DRIVER'S LICENSE RESTORATION ATTORNEYS IN MOUNT CLEMENS, MICHIGAN

Looking for a Lawyer to Restore Your Driver's License in Macomb County?

There is a point system in place for drivers in the state of Michigan. If you accumulate 12 or more points against your license, then you could face driver assessment and reexamination. This is a nerve-racking process that can result in your license being suspended for a certain period of time. Every vehicular offense that you are convicted of will accumulate points against your license. Offenses such as speeding (ten miles per hour or less above the speed limit) and other various moving violations will accumulate two points against your record, while vehicular manslaughter and fleeing a police officer will accumulate six points.

If your license is suspended, then you need to go through the process of driver's license restoration. Even after the allotted suspension period has expired, you will be forced to pay fines, and possibly take various tests in order to receive your license back. It is important that you understand your options in this scenario. While your license is suspended, you may be able to receive a probationary license for the purpose of getting to and from work.

Obtaining Restoration of Your License

If you have two prior drunk driving convictions within seven years, then your license will be revoked for life, however, you will be able to apply for a driver assessment and appeal division, also known as DAAD, license restoration hearing after one year. This same rule applies to three drunk driving convictions within ten years; however, you may be required to wait up to five years before requesting your hearing. At the time of the hearing, the officer will be looking for any possible reason to deny your request; therefore it is vitally important that they do not have any reason. The only way to ensure this is through the proper representation. I am Attorney James T. Bowden and I can provide you with the representation that you need in this case.
